Blinky is our new beautiful striped owl. She arrived at Rescue Center Costa Rica with serious injuries. She was underweight from a very poor diet and had a left eye injury that never healed not to mention she has muscular atrophy from being secluded in a very small cage where it was impossible for her to stretch her wings.
Since her arrival with us, she has been put on a proper diet and has eaten much better. The veterinarians have administered special drops and her left her has shown improvement.
Unfortunately, she will not be able to fly or hunt and will remain un-releasable but in a very safe and happy place. She was named Blinky because of the slow blinks from the problem that occurred in her left eye.
We are starting her new enclosure now and are very excited to know she has a few other screech owl friends being delivered before the end of 2020. A beautiful enclosure and new friendships we think will make Blinky feel very welcome and part of our family.
