Jack-Jack, our very first capuchin monkey, was brought to the Rescue Center in January of 2021. He was being kept as a family pet and had a breakdown on New Year's Eve as a result of the sounds from the fireworks. He began to bite and became extremely aggressive with the family. A neighbor intervened and brought him to us at the farm in Guacima.

The veterinarians immediately checked him well to ensure he was safe and healthy. If not for a little bout of anxiety he is in perfect health. A few days after being at Rescue Center he began to calm down and he looks very happy to be with us. He is eating well a diet of fruits, vegetables and small insects and is very active in his temporary cage.

We had the engineers come in this week and they started the capuchin monkey enclosure. It will have tire swings, ropes to climb and plenty of other enrichment. Hopefully, he will also have many friends very soon.

As of right now Jack-Jack may never be released. He spent too much time with the previous family and introducing him back to the wild may be impossible. If he can't be released, we will make sure he gets lots of food, love and attention!

Please consider sponsoring Jack-Jack to secure his/her food, medicine, and love!
